Genre/Subjects: Activism, Discrimination, Documentary, Gay, Lesbian, Marriage, Parenting / Family
Program: Documentaries

According to a 2005 study undertaken by the Italian National Institute of Health, 100,000 children in Italy have at least one homosexual parent, and forty-nine percent of homosexual couples want to have children. It is also currently illegal in Italy for a same-sex couple to adopt a child. This documentary follows two couples who are involved, in various ways, in being a family. Filmed in part by the kids themselves, The Wolf in Shorts takes a decidedly personal perspective on the issue of same-sex parenthood. The film is also very much a love story about the two couples who are drawn closer together even as they struggle to maintain a right to their existence as a family.
