Dos Almas

DIRECTOR: Danielle Villegas

In the remote western wilderness of 1850 a mestiza woman finds herself alone posing as a man for self-protection. While foraging for her survival she is approached by a local native woman who offers friendship and sustenance. She quickly recognizes their similarities and discovers unexpected feelings which conflict with her traditional Catholic upbringing and identity. While grappling with the realization of her true self she asks for guidance from Tonanzin the Virgin of Guadalupe who shows her the way.
